Monocouche Render Systems
Monocouche render is also known as one-coat or scratch
render. It is cement or lime-based and very weather resistant as well as
decorative.
These types of render provide a one-coat coloured finish.
Along with being weather resistant, it is also permeable to water vapour which
allows your structure underneath to breathe. Monocouche render comes in
hundreds of different colours and it provides the perfect finish to any
project, ensuring that your property stands out, looks great and lasts against
the weather.
Monocouche render is highly recommended instead of
traditional sand and cement. This is because the traditional method relies on a
2-coat application and the topcoat requires a mechanical key from the
base/scratch coat underneath. This can lead to water working its way in between
the coats, which can cause them to fail. On top of that, sand and cement render
is grey in colour and requires regular painting to keep up its appearance.
One-coat render is exactly what it means. This type of
render keys directly onto the underlying layer, and it forms a single
monolithic layer of render in a colour of your choice onto the building. It has
a longer lifespan and a more superior appearance compared to the traditional
type of render. There is no need for painting and it cures far quicker.
